Started by Don Uy in 2015, the Tampa Bay Melee has become Tampa Bay's premier classical fencing tournament, welcoming novices and experienced fencers alike. This summer tradition has grown into a beloved annual gathering that celebrates both competitive excellence and the camaraderie of the classical fencing community.

What sets the Tampa Bay Melee apart? Winning an event at the Melee doesn't just get you some generic medal – champions receive one-of-a-kind medals hand-crafted by Stu Oleson. These unique works of art have become legendary in the classical fencing world, with each tournament's medals featuring distinctive designs that winners treasure for years to come.

The Melee typically features multiple weapon categories including Foil, One Touch Epee, and Double Weapon (Epee & Dagger), with additional events varying by year. This multi-weapon format allows fencers to compete in their specialties or challenge themselves across different disciplines.
